Just Sign the Waiver and Join the Fun!
In the shadowed woods where the river roars, A whisper of thrill through the Gorge soars, With heartbeats racing, we gather near, To tackle the rapids, confront our fear.
The Ell Awaits
First comes The Ell, a twisting embrace, A churning dance, a wild water race, We sign our names, a waiver in hand, For adventure awaits on this untamed land. The current calls with a thunderous cheer, As we plunge into depths, the moment is near, With waves like mountains, we paddle and scream, In the heart of the chaos, we chase the dream.
Double Drop’s Challenge
Next, the Double Drop, a plunge so steep, Where courage is tested, and secrets we keep, The roar of the falls, a symphony loud, As we face the descent, both nervous and proud. With a rush of the water, we tumble and spin, In the heart of the maelstrom, we find our grin, Together we conquer, as one we unite, In the thrill of the moment, our spirits take flight.
The Legendary Washing Machine
Then comes the legend, the Washing Machine, A whirlpool of fury, a tempest unseen, With laughter and shouts, we embrace the ride, Through the frothy chaos, we’re swept side to side. In the belly of water, we dance and we dive, In the heart of the madness, we feel so alive, With each twist and turn, our fears disappear, In the arms of the river, we conquer the fear.
Reflections on the Rapids
As we float back to calm, with the sun setting low, We cherish the moments, the thrill of the flow, With laughter and stories, we gather around, For in conquering rivers, true joy can be found. So here’s to the waivers, the rapids, the ride, To the friendships we forged on this wild, roaring tide, In the heart of Oneida, where adventure is free, We’ll always remember the Big South Fork spree.
So, you’ve decided to brave the Big South Fork River, but not without signing that oh-so-important indemnity waiver first. Because nothing says “fun” like legally promising not to sue if you end up swimming with the fish. And you’re hoping for a thrilling whitewater adventure, not some kiddie pool splash fest. Spoiler alert: the waiver might just be the most intense part of your day.
