    Big South Fork Adventures offers a Multi day, Blue Heron to Turkey Creek Boat Ramp 2 Person Canoe Rentals Big South Fork Adventures offers a full day, 9:00am start trip, Blue Heron - Alum Ford (Takeout, 6-7hrs- 12.5miles) canoe/kayak rental floats The Blue Heron -Yamacraw float, will have moving water and the Yamacraw - Alum Ford section water flow is minimal. This BSF river section is the local overnight float favorite, for fisherman, swimmers and floaters. This trip is dotted with house sized boulders, canopy of trees, Class I and II, Joel Shoals, rapids and runs alongside the abandoned Kentucky and Tennessee Railway rail line. The Blue Heron to Turkey Creek float contains remanence of the bustling coal mining days with historic K&T bridge at Yamacraw and the bridge pillars at the abandoned coal mine town of Worley. Fish the pool rapids for small mouth bass and walleye! The Blue Heron -Turkey Creek float, will have moving water and the Yamacraw - Turkey Creek section water flow is minimal. 24 miles, 12hrs or Paddling This river sections are local (no longer a secret) float favorites, for fisherman, swimmers and paddlers.   • Canoeing/Kayaking Full Day

    Big South Fork Adventures offers a full day, 9:00am start trip, Alum Ford - Turkey Creek Boat ramp canoe/kayak rental floats Alum Ford - Turkey Creek Boat ramp, located at the end of 927/ The Day Ridge Road. The shuttle driver pick up location is Turkey Creek Boat Ramp and the put in is Alum Ford. After a short guide, safety briefing you’ll be on your way ina watercraft of your choice. This section is almost always at lake level; the water will be flat water with lots of paddling. It is nonetheless a beautiful section with generally little traffic. Leave your worries behind…fish, float, or swim along this beautiful section.

    For non-loop hikes, Big South Fork Adventures offers shuttles services for the following areas; Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, Laurel Lake, Exit 49 Livingston, Daniel Boone National Forest (London District) and Big South Fork NRRA, (KY-TN) Regions. We will pick up you and/or your party at the End Trailhead and shuttle you to the Beginning Trailhead.

    For non-loop hikes, Big South Fork Adventures offers shuttles services for the following areas; Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, Laurel Lake, Exit 49 Livingston, Daniel Boone National Forest (London District) and Big South Fork NRRA, (KY-TN) Regions. We will pick up you and/or your party at the End Trailhead and shuttle you to the Beginning Trailhead.

  • Canoe & Kayak Rentals | Cumberland 1.5hr

    Experience the beauty of the Cumberland River with Big South Fork Adventures. We offer convenient shuttle services along with canoe and kayak rentals for a family-friendly journey from Thunderstruck to Cumberland Falls. On this trip, BSFA picks up at the Cumberland Falls Parking lot and shuttle you and/or your party to the put in: Thunderstruck Boat Ramp. After the put in at Thunderstruck boat ramp - there is Pitch Rapid, a navigable, Class I-II rapid, then downstream from Slick Shoals, the Cumberland River flows hard left, around Blue Bend. After passing Blue Ben paddlers need to stay river right, navigate couple drops and then take out pass Gatliff Stone Bridge at the Cumberland Falls Parking Lot. The next water hazard after Gatliff Stone Bridge is the Cumberland Falls, a Class VI water hazard. The current on river left will pull paddlers toward the 68' waterfall all paddlers must stay river right when approaching Gatliff Bridge. Lastly, don't miss the takeout on river right, Cumberland Falls Parking lot. Choose to paddle beneath a lush canopy or bask in the sun—your float, your choice!
